Overview:

A journey through Ladakh with immersion into its ancient culture and breathtaking landscapes: acclimatization in Leh, travel through the Sham Valley and Ulley, a visit to the historic Alchi Monastery, exploration of the Aryan Valley and the traditions of the Brokpa people, participation in the Apricot Blossom Festival in Skurbuchan, return to Leh with visits to iconic landmarks along the way, and an unforgettable excursion to the turquoise Pangong Lake.

This tour beautifully combines nature, ethnography, and the dramatic high-altitude scenery of the Himalayas.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Leh – Sham Valley
Enjoy a spectacular flight over the Himalayas — snow-covered peaks and endless mountain ranges unfold beneath the aircraft window. Upon arrival in Leh, you will be greeted by a representative of the local team and transferred to the picturesque Sham Valley. After a welcome tea or coffee, it is recommended to dedicate the day to rest and gentle acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust comfortably to the altitude.
Overnight in Ulley.
Day 2. Alchi Monastery & Aryan Valley (Land of the Dards – Brokpa)
After a relaxed breakfast, the journey continues through the lower valleys of Ladakh along the scenic Sham Valley.
Alchi Monastery
Alchi is one of the oldest Buddhist monastic complexes in the region. It is not just a gompa but a complete temple complex (chos-'khor) located in the village of Alchi in Leh district. The complex consists of several temples built in different historical periods. Alchi is considered the oldest and most renowned among the four historic settlements of this area. Particularly remarkable are the ancient wall paintings and sculptures dating from the 11th–12th centuries, created in a unique Kashmiri-Tibetan artistic tradition. Administratively, the monastery is managed by Likir Monastery. After visiting Alchi, the journey continues to the mysterious Aryan Valley, home of the Dardic people known as the Brokpa.
Aryan Valley – Brokpa Land
This is one of the most distinctive regions of Ladakh, where inhabitants preserve ancient traditions, language, and a unique ethnic identity. Accommodation will be in a cozy and authentic homestay in the village of Garkone. In spring, the valley becomes especially beautiful as the slopes are covered with blooming apricot orchards, creating a truly mesmerizing landscape. Evening at leisure in the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains. Overnight in Garkone.
Day 3. Aryan Valley – Apricot Blossom Festival
After breakfast, participate in the Apricot Blossom Festival in the village of Skurbuchan in the Aryan Valley. During this time, the valley transforms into a sea of pink and white apricot blossoms. A gentle walk through the orchards allows you to enjoy the scent of spring and capture stunning photographs against the Himalayan backdrop. The festival features traditional music and dance performances by local residents dressed in colorful national costumes, reflecting the rich culture of the Brokpa community. Guests can also taste local cuisine and apricot delicacies — dried apricots, homemade jams, juices, and traditional dishes prepared with this beloved fruit. In the evening, enjoy the sunset over the blooming orchards, when the mountains are painted in soft golden and pink hues. Overnight in Garkone.
Day 4. Aryan Valley – Leh via Sham Valley
After breakfast, depart from the Aryan villages of Dha or Hanu and drive toward Leh. The road follows the majestic Indus River, one of the main lifelines of Ladakh. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the wide river valley, rugged rock formations, and the unique landscapes of the high-altitude desert. A short stop will be made in Khaltse, followed by visits to several iconic sites on the way to Leh: Magnetic Hill — a famous optical illusion where vehicles appear to roll uphill with the engine off. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib — a sacred Sikh shrine associated with legends of Guru Nanak. Upon arrival in Leh, enjoy free time to relax or explore the town. Recommended
places to visit include:
Leh Palace
Shanti Stupa
Leh’s central market.
Overnight in Leh.
Day 5. Pangong Lake Excursion
Early morning departure from Leh to the high-altitude Pangong Lake. The road crosses mountain passes and reveals dramatic Himalayan landscapes. Upon arrival, experience one of Ladakh’s most breathtaking natural wonders. The turquoise waters of Pangong change shades throughout the day, while the surrounding mountains reflect in the crystal surface, creating an almost surreal scenery. Enjoy a walk along the shore, time for photography, and quiet contemplation of the vast high-altitude wilderness. In the afternoon, return to Leh. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6. Departure
After an early breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward flight. Farewell to the Himalayas and return home with unforgettable memories of Ladakh — its vast valleys, ancient monasteries, turquoise lakes, and the profound silence of the high mountains.

Travel Notes for Ladakh :

Altitude & Acclimatization

Ladakh is located at high altitude (3,000–4,500 meters above sea level). The first day
is always reserved for rest and gentle acclimatization. A slow and mindful start
ensures a comfortable adaptation.

Mountain weather can change quickly. Sunny days may feel warm, while evenings
and mornings are cool. Layered clothing, a light down jacket, sunglasses, and SPF
protection are recommended.

Journeys pass through high mountain passes and scenic valleys. Roads are part of the
adventure, offering breathtaking landscapes. Travel times may vary depending on
weather and road conditions.

No special training is required; however, the program includes walking on uneven
terrain, monastery steps, and natural trails. The pace is always adjusted to the group.

Festival dates are fixed, but the exact timing of rituals is determined by the monastery.
These are authentic spiritual events, not staged performances.

Mobile signal and internet access may be limited in remote valleys. This is a rare
opportunity to disconnect and fully experience the silence and vastness of the
Himalayas.

Weather and mountain conditions may occasionally require minor adjustments to the
itinerary. The integrity and depth of the experience are always preserved.
