Overview:

An автор’s journey by aleVSham across Ladakh — a land of altitude and silence. Monasteries, valleys, high passes, and rituals become a path inward, where the mountains resonate like prayer.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival in Leh — Learning to Breathe on the Roof of the World

Upon arrival in Leh, the day is dedicated to rest and acclimatization. This gentle beginning allows the body to adapt to the high altitude and the rarefied, crystal-clear mountain air. If you feel comfortable, a short visit to Shanti Stupa and a relaxed walk through Leh Market are possible. It is strongly recommended to avoid physical exertion, alcohol, and smoking, drink plenty of water, and allow the mountains to receive you gradually.
Overnight in Leh.

Day 2. Leh — Alchi — Basgo | Where Art, History and Rivers Meet

After breakfast, a scenic drive along the Indus Valley. Visit Alchi Monastery, renowned for its 11th-century frescoes and unique artistic heritage. Continue to the impressive ruins of Basgo, rising dramatically against the desert mountains. Stop at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers — a peaceful symbol of natural harmony. Return to Leh. Overnight in Leh.

Day 3. Leh — Nubra Valley | Crossing the Sky at Khardung La

After breakfast, special permits are arranged before departing for Nubra Valley. The route crosses Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world (5,602 m). The landscapes create the sensation of touching the sky. Arrival in Nubra Valley, check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Nubra.

Day 4. Nubra Valley — A Gentle Touch of Nature

A light walking route through the valley to experience the landscape slowly and deeply. Visit Panamik Hot Springs, where you may relax and restore energy. A picnic will be arranged on the banks of the Shyok River — one of the most scenic lunch spots in Ladakh. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight in Nubra.

Day 5. Nubra — Leh | Sacred Chants and Timeless Monasteries

Early morning participation in a monastery ceremony. Rhythmic chants, incense, and profound silence create a deeply moving experience. Return to Leh. Visit Shey Palace and the magnificent Thiksey Monastery, often compared to the Potala Palace of Tibet. Overnight in Leh.

Day 6. Departure — The Mountains Remain Within

After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey. The tour ends, but Ladakh remains in the heart.
